Approximate Usage Breakdown of Dues for 2019-20

Given an estimated 360 students will enroll at West this Fall, we will collect approximately $81,000 in annual dues. These funds serve to enhance our children’s educational experiences. Here is a summary of how your $225 in annual dues per child are allocated:

Allocations and Programs- 25%
(i.e. Funds allocated to permanent items for the school that are not able to be funded by the School District – assemblies, learning tools such as IXL)

Staff Recognition - 20%
(Includes holiday, birthday, and year end gifts from the West Parent Group to your child’s teacher, specialists, and school staff. Also includes costs for Staff Appreciation Week when our teaching staff is celebrated in May.)

Classroom & Educational Enhancement - 19%
(ex: Classroom supplies selected by your child’s teacher, Art-in-Action materials, grade level parties, classroom specific activities which are teacher directed, emergency supplies and support for Student Council)

Publications - 19%
(Includes yearbook for each child and school directory)

Events - 6%
(ex: Welcome Back Carnival, Halloween, New Parent Reception, Volunteer Tea)

Associated Parent Group of HCSD - 5%
(For programs impacting the entire district)

Administration - 3%
(i.e. CoreCommerce software, payment processing fees)

Hospitality - 3%
(i.e. Superintendent Coffees, parent group meetings, school board meetings)

Please remember, with your contribution each of your children at West will receive a West School Yearbook and you will receive a bound copy of the All School Directory. This can only be assured to families who pay by September 6, 2019.
